Avoid the Mistakes When Buying POS Paper Rolls

Below are some common pitfalls to avoid when purchasing POS paper rolls, especially if you’re new to the business.

Thermal paper relies on heat-sensitive coating to produce dark black printing images. Poorly coated thermal paper will result in unclear printing and faded receipts.

Thick paper tends to damage your printhead more easily and usually produces more dust. Also, thicker paper gives you less length per roll.

Reduced Diameter

When you buy 80mm x 80mm thermal rolls, you may only get a real diameter of 75mm or even less. Some tricky suppliers reduce the roll diameter on purpose in order to cut costs.

The core size is also a crucial factor in determining the roll price. A bigger core results in a shorter roll length and a lower price, but you get fewer meters per roll.
