FAQs on our ECG Paper

ECG paper uses the grid system to visualize the electrical activity of your heart. This grid has two axes: horizontal and vertical, each measuring something different.

  • Horizontal Axis (Time): Each small square represents 0.04 seconds, and five small squares make up one big red square, which represents 0.2 seconds. This allows you to measure how long it takes for the electrical signal to travel through your heart.
  • Vertical Axis (Voltage): This axis shows the strength of the electrical signal generated by your heart muscle. The vertical axis is typically measured in millivolts (mV). Each large square on the grid usually represents 0.5 mV, with smaller squares representing 0.1 mV. This helps assess the power of your heart’s contractions.

So, by counting the squares, doctors can measure how long electrical signals take to travel through your heart and how strong they are, helping them understand your heart’s rhythm and health. Think of it like sheet music for your heart!

In an ECG (electrocardiogram), a “channel” represents a different electrical viewpoint of the heart. Imagine your heart as a house, and the electrical signal travels through different “wires” (electrical pathways) within the heart muscle.

  • A basic ECG machine might have 3 leads (wires) attached to your body, recording the electrical activity from 3 different directions. These 3 leads would translate to 3 “channels” on the printout, showing the overall electrical flow through your heart.
  • More advanced ECG machines can have up to 12 leads, providing a more detailed picture of the heart’s electrical activity from various angles. This translates to 12 “channels” on the printout, allowing doctors to pinpoint potential issues more precisely.

Yes, in addition to red grid lines, we can also offer ECG paper with green or orange color grids upon request. Our customization options extend to grid color, allowing you to choose the color that best suits your preferences or specific application needs.

Please feel free to contact us for further assistance or to place an order with your desired grid color specifications.

Yes, we can produce fanfold ECG paper. Fanfold ECG paper comes in a fanfold format (Z fold) rather than traditional rolls. This format offers ease of use and convenient storage for certain ECG machines.
