What Are the Different Types of Brother Direct Thermal (DK) Labels?

Brother’s DK (Direct thermal) labels are designed and used for its QL series label printers, while its TZe (Thermal transfer) label tapes are for P-touch labeling machines.  Brother DK series labels provide reliable thermal printing quality as well as flexibility to meet our everyday labeling needs for address labels, name badges, barcoding, shelving signage, folders, and many other home and office uses. Among various DK models and sizes, they are mainly divided into two categories: die-cut labels and continuous labels.

1. Die-cut Labels: They are pre-cut labels with many small label templates on one roll. Each small label has a fixed width and height. They are ideal for consistent label template printing, such as address labels and shipping labels.
2. Continuous labels: Unlike die-cut labels with identical sizes, continuous roll labels provide a specific width but ridiculous length (usually 30.48 m or 15.24 m). It gives the flexibility to print any length of labels as you wish with Brother’s auto-cut function.
